Andrej Karpathy is a prominent figure in artificial intelligence and deep learning. He has an impressive track record in both academia and industry. From 2017 to 2022, Karpathy held the position of Senior Director of AI at Tesla, where he led the computer vision team responsible for the development of Tesla Autopilot. His role encompassed various responsibilities, including in-house data labeling, neural network training, and deploying the system on Tesla's custom inference chip. Under his leadership, the Autopilot system has dramatically improved driving safety and convenience.
